This bird feeder for modern gardens combines functionality with beautiful design and is environmentally friendly.
Designers Mika Tolvanen and Julie Tolvanen, who have been studying bird feeding habits for several years, feed the birds with prototype food while having breakfast by the dining room window.
The feeder's size and shape were designed to accommodate small birds and woodpeckers who prefer to hang out vertically, and it's designed to work like a grain silo - you lift the top cone to add sunflower seeds or peanuts, and the feeder fills up from the bottom.
The materials used are 100% recycled plastic and rope, which are environmentally friendly and safe.
The plastic body is made from recycled plastic containers and washing machine parts, and the rope is coloured using a waterless dyeing process using recycled PET bottles, and can all be disassembled and re-recycled.
This product has been designed with sustainability in mind, from the selection of raw materials to the packaging design, which does not use adhesives.
