loomer is a fabric brand that places emphasis on weaving and was born from a collaboration between T'acca inc., a weaving shop that has been in business for over 50 years in the Oshu region, Japan's largest woolen textile production area, and Minami Takayuki, a creative director who works on various brands and shops such as Graphpaper and FreshService.
Using precious, historic Schonherr looms and low-speed rapier looms, they produce high-quality textiles with meticulous attention paid to every step of the process, from raw material selection, yarn making, fabric design, and weaving.
Unlike modern high-speed looms, Schonherr looms weave slowly while incorporating air, which means that the fibers are not damaged and the resulting fabric is fluffy and supple, almost like a hand-woven fabric.
